It was an announcement of a large slate that came in after the firm's 2014 front runner smartphone, the Xperia Z2, reported previously. The new unit from the company will take it's name from the current Xperia fleet, named the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet.
The new slate of Sony is spill and dust proof, where is said to be the world's first slimmest and lightest water resistant tablet, measuring only 6.4 millimeters in thickness. The design of the new Xperia Z2 Tablet mainly consists panels of scratch repellent glass on either sides, making it glaze at every position.
Other internal and technical specifications include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and Krait 400 cores, clocked at 2.3GHz, an Adreno 330 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), 10.1-inches Full High Definition screen of 1080 pixels resolution, accompanying Sony's TRILUMINOS display tech with Live Color LED and X-Reality mobile picture engine, 16 gigabytes of internal mass storage (expandable via microSD card slot), three gigabytes of Random Access Memory (RAM), 8.1 megapixels primary shooter on the back, powered with an Exmor RS sensor, two megapixels front facing camera, both capable of capturing video footages at 1080p, Bluetooth 4.0, Near Field Communication (NFC) and 4G LTE network support highlights from the connectivity department, a 6,000mAh juice of battery and runs on Android's version 4.4 KitKat with Sony's UI out of the box. The slate will pack in Black and White color options, where shipping is scheduled for March.
