The Chinese multinational manufacturer, Huawei has taken the next big step in the modern electronics market, by introducing their first ever wearable smart device that connects to both Android and iOS operating systems via Bluetooth, yesterday at their Mobile World Congress Press Conference.
From the new unit's design, the new TalkBand B1 from Huawei is a combination of a elastic rubber kind of Smartband and a Bluetooth Headset that can be detached from the band for a hands-free conversation over the call. The Smartband consists of an USB plug at the end of the strap, that can be connected to the computer for charging as well.
The TalkBand B1 includes a curved display of 1.4-inches OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) tech, that screens in caller information of the incoming calls. The device is equipped with Bluetooth's version 4.1 and features a fitness tracker on board, that will monitor your sleep, the footsteps you take and the calories burned from the body. The IP 57 certifications for the new TalkBand from Huawei, makes it water and dust resistant, more over a great friend to the rugged sportsmen. There is a 90mAh battery powering the new wearable for seven hours of talk time and six days of activity tracking. The TalkBand connects to Android devices running version 2.3 Gingerbread or above and iOS devices attributing iOS version 5.0 or above.
The Bluetooth earpiece is marked at 9.4 grams, while the whole unit itself is measured at 14.6 millimeters in it's thickness and weighs about 26 grams on mass in total. The Huawei TalkBand B1 is expected to go on sale in China by next month, followed by Europe, Japan, Middle East and Russia in early quarter two of this year at a price of 136 United States Dollars.
