Huawei took this evening to announce their latest addition to the company's tablet lineup. The Chinese multinational technology company has launched their latest iteration to the MatePad fleet with MatePad Pro in it's home country. The newest slate from Huawei is their take on Apple iPad Pro and Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 and comes in both WiFi only and WiFi plus LTE variants. The tablet comes packed with a ton of high-end specifications with an comparatively valuable price tag in terms of Apple's new generation iPad Pro. This latest tablet from the Shenzhen-based corporation comes bundled with a keyboard case and stylus pen, what Huawei calls the M-Pencil that can charge wirelessly when attached to the tab. Huawei MatePad Pro will also be the first tablet to feature the punch hole design camera on the front with a 10.8" screen of 2560 x 1600 resolution AMOLED display at 16:10 aspect ratio. According to tablet maker, the slate has got a really slim bezels that only measures about 4.9mm from the edges giving the brand new MatePad Pro 90% screen to body ratio.
From it's internals we have the device running with Huawei's most powerful Kirin 990 chipset, the same processor that powers the company's flagship smartphones like Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro, also their foldable Mate X handset. The tablet will ship in 6GB and 8GB RAM options with 128GB and 256GB internal storage options. On the front punch hole display packs an eight megapixels secondary front facing camera with an aperture of f/2.0. On the back sits a single 13MP primary shooter with LED flash. It is also worth noting that the MatePad Pro will pack a quad speaker setup for better sounds and audio quality. Now when we come to the battery department, the tablet has a bunch to offer from it's 7250mAh battery that is capable of 40W Huawei SuperCharge and 15W wireless charging. The tab is also said to feature 7.5W reverse wireless charging as well. Huawei MatePad Pro will come out of the box operating on Android version 10 topped with EMUI 10.
Available in Black, White, Orange and Green colors, the tablet is already up for pre-orders in China for a price of $468.85 for the WiFi only 6GB RAM/128GB storage option and $539.91 for WiFi+LTE version of 6GB RAM/128GB variant. The 8GB RAM/256GB option will cost you around $639.39. Huawei will kick off the sales for the tablet starting December 12 and we haven't heard anything officially from the manufacturer on the tab's international availability.
