Samsung unveils Gear Live smartwatch with Android Wear at Google I/O



As reported you earlier, Samsung has announced their new generation wearable powered by Google's Android Wear operating system. The companies have brought the new Samsung Gear Live device in the public presence, yesterday at Google's Annual I/O Developers Conference event, in San Francisco, California, United States.

This new wearable from Samsung will to provide you with the important information as the right time you need it, using Google Now, which works seamlessly with voice commands. Gear Live comes with interesting watch faces, but a touch on-screen will wake the device up, for instant access to unlimited features. The new Gear Live smartwatches are meant to be connected to Android running smartphones, where it comes with wide range of application compatibility, for latest posts and updates from social media apps and messaging apps. Also using Google's hotword, "Okay Google", users can get their questions answered and even get things done, like making a call or reservations at restaurant, texting a message, commencing a music playlist search and even casting videos from the smartphone to your TV. You can also use the new smartwatch as your fitness assist, where this new product from Samsung comes with a dedicated heart rate monitor and sensors, like accelerometer, gyroscope and a compass. The newly unveiled unit will be dust and water resistant, with IP67-certifications on board.

The new Samsung Gear Live can be connected to any smartphone running Android's version 4.3 Jelly Bean or later, with Bluetooth 4.0 LE (Low Power) connectivity support within the watch. The new watch will too come with changeable straps in Black and Wine Red color options. Gear Live as a whole will look a lot similar to their previously announced Gear smartwatches, running company's own Tizen OS.
