ASUS or ASUSTek Computer Inc. has announced their next generation revamped and redesigned version Fonepad 7 slate, this time model named FE170CG in Philippines. We had already unboxed and reviewed the predecessor tablet in the past January, which is still available in the markets, coming to the store shelves in two standard color options, including Black and White paint jobs.
Where else, the new affordable tablet from ASUS will be sold in two additional colors, coming out of the box in Red and Blue along with the Black and White flavors. The new ASUS made tablets are said to be significantly thinner and lighter, than the company's previous model. Unfortunately, the slate will feature some cut down specifications from it's last generation seven-incher, skipping the WXGA screen resolution for a WSVGA panel, four gigabytes of internal storage instead of the eight gigs capacity and a two megapixels primary shooter in place of a five MP shooter. The slate is already being retailed in the country for 5995 Philippine Peso, about 137 United States Dollars.
For a complete list of internals of the newly announced tablet, it will tot a Dual-Core Intel Atom Z2520, speeding at 1.2Ghz, a PowerVR SGX544MP2 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), seven-inches WSVGA LCD screen of 1024 x 600 resolution display, marked at 170 pixels-per-inch, four gigabytes of internal mass storage (expandable via microSD card slot), one gigabyte of Random Access Memory (RAM), two megapixels primary lens on the back with a 0.3 megapixels front facing snapper. For connectivity highlights, the slate supports dual-SIM capability over dual standby, along with Bluetooth 4.0 and 3G HSPA+ network radios, a 3,950mAh powered battery and runs Android's version 4.3 Jelly Bean, which can be further updated to 4.4 KitKat. The new ASUS Fonepad 7 FE170CG is measured at 192 x 110 x 10.7 millimeters in dimensions and weighs only 290 grams on mass.
