Manu Kumar Jain, the Global Vice President of Xiaomi and Managing Director of Xiaomi India recently shared a new tweet from his official Twitter handle, making an announcement that POCO will now be an independent brand away from it's parent company Xiaomi. POCO was first introduced in late 2018 as a subsidiary of the Beijing-based Xiaomi Corporation. According to Jain, the POCOPHONE F1 has been an incredibly popular smartphone across the globe, offering higher-end specifications with affordable price tag. And now they feel it is the time is right to let POCO operate on its own and work as an unrestrained brand from the Chinese corporation. No other details were disclosed at this moment, but we believe this new declaration falls exactly in line with the statements made by Alvin Tse, General Manager of Xiaomi Indonesia and Head of POCOPHONE, the past month.

What started as a sub-brand within Xiaomi, has grown into its own identity. POCO F1 was an incredibly popular phone. We feel the time is right to let POCO operate on its own.
Join me in wishing @IndiaPOCO all the best.
