Samsung Galaxy Z Flip leaks in new marketing kit, reveals design and all other details


We are getting closer to the Galaxy Unpacked Event on February 11 and we see more details get revealed on Samsung's upcoming smartphones that will likely debut in San Francisco, United States, next month. Today the German website WinFuture managed to get their hands on an exclusive new set of leak featuring the forthcoming Galaxy Z Flip (previous codenamed Galaxy Bloom) foldable clamshell smartphone with model number SM-F700 from the South Koreans. Roland Quandt, the writer from WinFuture have shared some official press renders or so-called marketing kit of about to happen foldable handset from Samsung, revealing all the details we need know about the smartphone including information on it's internal specifications. The phone appears in shades of Purple and Black colors from all possible angles. Also in a latest a tweet posted by the Quandt on Twitter, he shows off the device's hinge and the overall thickness in folded position, even disclosing the placement of the manufacturer's logo branding for their Galaxy Z Flip. According to the previous reports, Samsung's former President and CEO of Mobile Communication Business, DJ Koh mentioned that, the Galaxy Bloom has been designed with the motif of compact powder from French cosmetics brand Lancome, and now we see those initial statements match the final product design from the phone maker.
In its marketing materials, the company even says that the device is "Influencer Ready," also because some software adjustments have been made to make the device particularly suitable for Instagram photos, added Quandt.
So talking about the design factor here, the phone will trait a horizontal hinge mechanism as leaked in the past, coming with a flexible display panel at 6.7", what the Samsung calls, the "Infinity Flex Screen," folding from it's center half vertically. The hinge will open freely between 70 degree and 110 degree angles. The main screen on the phone features an Infinity-O panel, housing the front facing sensor in the punch hole positioned to the top center, packed in a 22:9 format, shipping with a resolution of 2636 x 1080 pixels. The display arrives with HDR10+ support and attributes the ultra thin glass layer (like suggested from the past rumors) for the screen along with two lumps or nubs placed on the two parallel sides over the plastic trim around the display for added protection. On the outside, the Galaxy Z Flip will have a secondary smaller Gorilla Glass 6 protected always-on Super AMOLED display of 1.06" at 300 x 116 resolution pixels for displaying time and other notifications, accompanied by dual camera module and LED flashlight. The fingerprint reader have been moved to the right edge of the smartphone's casing, placed below the volume control buttons. When opened, the device is measured around 167.9 x 73.6 x 6.9 - 7.2 mm and when closed (as seen on the the embedded tweet) it's about 87.4 x 73.6 x 15.4 or 17.3 mm in dimensions. The product weight is mentioned to be around 183 grams.

Now lets talk about the internal hardware specifications of the smartphone, that leaked beside the marketing images of the Galaxy Z Flip. The device is expected to launch with a 7nm based Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor on board, skipping the latest 5G connectivity for fourth generation LTE networks. The display as aforementioned will be of  6.7" Dynamic AMOLED Full High Definition Plus panel with 2636 x 1080 pixels, in protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The phone should see 8GB of RAM and UFS3.0 supported 256GB on board storage. From the camera department, on the rear rests a 12MP dual pixel sensor at f/1.8 and aperture angle of 78 degrees, with another 12MP 123-degrees ultra wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture. You will also have HDR10+ and optical image stabilization integrated to the optics. And on the front punch hole sits a 10MP 80-degrees autofocus capable dual pixel lens, with f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera arrangement is capable of shooting UHD 4K videos at 60 frames per second and the front lens is capable of recording videos at same UHD 4K resolution but at 30 frames per second. The phone will also bring Bluetooth version 5.0, USB Type-C, NFC, WiFi version 6 (2.4 + 5 GHz), WiFi direct, MirrorLink and Smart View for connectivity. The unit boots to Android's version 10 with Samsung's One UI 2.0 on top, powering on with a 3300mAh battery, which supports fast charging of 15W, as well as wireless charging at 9W.

As for the availability, the newest and next in line Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is stated to arrive in the European region starting February 14, offered at a price somewhere around 1652.26 USD, if you trust the present speculations.
