As teased and anticipated, the Taiwanese settled computer hardware and electronics company, ASUSTeK Computer Inc. has announced their latest and first Android Wear powered smartphone, named as the new ZenWatch. Today at the company's event at this year's International Franchise Association trade exhibition, going live in Berlin, Germany, ASUS's Chairman, Jonney Shih came forward to announce the new smartwatch from the makes of the Taiwanese, which will be priced at 199 Euros, around 262 United States Dollars, once officially launched, which should be available from Google Play and from selected retailers in the near future, as he hinted about a launch by the end of the third quarter and by the beginning of fourth quarter, later this year.
So the smartwatch or the new ZenWatch from ASUS will come sporting Google's latest wearable platform, Android Wear, which will feature all kinds of attributes embracing the company's voice recognition capabilities over the hood seen from other Android Wear powered devices, announced in the past. Accordingly, the new ASUS manufactured ZenWatch's outer casing is reported to be made out of premium steel construction, which will provide it's users the luxurious light-weight metal feel, also featuring the sleek undulated squarish design for the watch face and the curved display with glass panel, high quality interchangeable leather strap, all making this new product more stylish and deluxe. The unit also packs in IP55-certifications on board for dust and water resistance, alike other Android Wear gadgets announced in the past.
Now for it's specifications, the new ASUS branded ZenWatch will too remain identical to it's competitors from the market, coming out of the box with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor running at 1,2GHz, 1.63-inches curved AMOLED display of 320 x 320 resolution pixels four gigabytes of built-in storage, 512 megabytes of Random Access Memory, Bluetooth 4.0, and other sensors including, gyroscope, accelerometer, compass, barometer and a dedicated heart rate sensor, around the back side of the watch.
