Protect yourself from Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The best way to prevent the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic illness is by avoiding your exposure to the virus. Clean your hands often, use soap and water for at least 20 seconds or a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol to clean your hands more frequently.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands or after being in the public.
Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Maintain a safe distance between yourself and other people if COVID-19 is spreading in your community.
Stay home if you’re sick and take help from local health authorities and medical professionals.
Make sure to cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or use the inside of your elbow when you cough or sneeze. Properly dispose the used tissues in the trash, and immediately clean your hands with soap and water or a hand sanitizer.
Wear a face mask if you are sick or if you are around other people (e.g., sharing a room or vehicle) and before you enter a healthcare provider’s office. Do not wear a face mask unless you are caring for someone who is sick.

Rick Osterloh is the new President and COO of Motorola Mobility



Motorola Mobility announces their new President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) in position, where he has already taken his respective duties, from the dates of 9th April, 2014, reporting to the Motorola Operating Board at Google, Inc. until the Chinese Lenovo's acquisition over the company is complete.

 Rick Osterloh is originally from Silicon Valley, United States, where he joined Motorola seven years back in, 2007, when Motorola acquired Good, as the firm's manager of product and engineering teams. He has been a familiar face to the company since then and has been leading all the product management and helping define Motorola's 'go forward' strategy, for the past two years. Rick was also a part of Skype, until Microsoft showed interest in that particular technology.

 "I believe that Rick’s appointment provides the focused leadership and business continuity needed to steer the organization into the future, and I look forward to continuing in my role as Google liaison and advisor to Motorola through the transition period supporting Rick," said Jonathan Rosenberg, the former COO of Motorola Mobility, as he was appointed in that position, days back on 1st of April, 2014, as Dennis Woodside left for Dropbox's Chief Operating Officer's designation.

Google and Motorola goes official with Project Ara Module Developers Kit (MDK)



So folks, we actually know what Google and Motorola is meaning with their new Project Ara platform, as we have already discussed that in our previous articles. Today the companies announced the availability of the Project Ara's Module Developers Kit (MDK) for dedicated developers interested.

 We are just days behind their their official Press Conference to go live, and now it is said that, the Project Ara team is welcoming new developers to input to the Module Developers Kit or MDK, either through the Module Developers mailing list or forum.

 The newly available MDK consists of an on-device packet-switched data network based on the MIPI UniPro protocol stack, a flexible power bus, an elegant industrial design that unites modules to the endoskeleton and the basic design guidelines, that marks out module dimensions and more . The new update on the company's domain also mentions that, throughout this year, the Motorola Project Ara team will be working on a series of Alpha and Beta versions of their Module Developers Kit (MDK) releases.

 The displayed documentation below shows us that, the Project Ara will arrive in three different sizes of endoskeletons, mentioned Mini, Medium and Large (Future Release), in order the bigger ones will compensate more number of modules on board, compared to the smaller versions. Users of the Ara also have the choice to select between a a full-fledged touchscreen setup or screen shared with a physical QWERTY keyboard and number pads.

Google will hold back Motorola's Project Ara



Last year we brought the Motorola's Project Ara in your notice, and after Lenovo's acquisition over Motorola Mobility, we were in doubts to where will this modular handset's end be from. But now the news has been confirmed that the Project Ara's patent portfolios will stay in the files of the American search giant.

 Basically, the Motorola Advanced Technology's biggest and most interesting project at times, will be located under the hood of the Google's Android department, at Google's Headquarters in Mountain View, California, United States. We also read that the 100 men army behind the the Project Ara led by Regina Dugan, herself will relocate their offices under Sundar Pichai at Google, than to the Chinese electronics maker Lenovo.

Lenovo acquires Google's Motorola Mobility business!



Google has issued a Press Release, stating the Chinese multinational manufacturer Lenovo's acquisition over it's Motorola Mobility's business at a purchase price of 2.91 Billion Unites States Dollars. We are still in a shock to what made Google sell their two years old company to the Chinese people at a great loss. As you may be aware that the American search giant had bought the Motorola company back in 2011 for 12.5 Billion.

We head the news for a while with the taste of rumors and moments after, we saw the Americans going official with their Press Release on this deal. Basically, Lenovo will have to pay 2.91 Billion (subject to certain adjustments), where the new owner and computer manufacturer will have to pay 1.41 Billion this time around, followed by $660 Million in ready cash along with $750 Million in investments in Lenovo's ordinary shares and remaining 1.5 Billion to be paid in a three years promissory note.

The reads also mentions that this deal will give a definite boost and strengthen Lenovo's position in the smartphone industry. The company will be able to regain better business in the North and Latin Americas with Western Europe, empowering Motorola's branding in the areas. And talking about their patent portfolios, it will be remained with Google, while Lenovo will receive a license over these patents that don't go into their name and will also hold over 2000 other patents assets.

"The acquisition of such an iconic brand, innovative product portfolio and incredibly talented global team will immediately make Lenovo a strong global competitor in smartphones. We will immediately have the opportunity to become a strong global player in the fast-growing mobile space," said Yang Yuanqing, Chairman and CEO of Lenovo.

"Lenovo has the expertise and track record to scale Motorola Mobility into a major player within the Android ecosystem. This move will enable Google to devote our energy to driving innovation across the Android ecosystem, for the benefit of smartphone users everywhere," quoted Larry Page, Chief Executive Officer of Google.

"As part of Lenovo, Motorola Mobility will have a rapid path to achieving our goal of reaching the next 100 million people with the mobile Internet. With the recent launches of Moto X and Moto G, we have tremendous momentum right now and Lenovo’s hardware expertise and global reach will only help to accelerate this," denoted Dennis Woodside, CEO at Motorola Mobility.
